Subject: Disabling Rolling door locks? IP: Logged
Message: I just acquired a little 99 Dakota. It has rolling door locks that lock the doors automatically at about 10mph. I hate this! I don't lock my doors. I don't have a keyless entry for it, just manual if I happen to need to lock it up. So everytime I get out, the passenger side door is always locked. So I have to get my keys or walk back around. SUPER Annoying! Dealer wants $87.50 to try to reprogram it to stop doing this. Anyone know how to do it? BTW, I really like this little truck.

Message: As you slide out of the driver's seat, move the door lock switch to the unlock position. The when you get to the passenger side, it'll be unlocked.
Now wasn't that easy?

Message: No kidding. Thanks, but I was hoping for an answer that fixed it permanently. Having to remember to unlock my doors eveytime I get out is a pain in the arse, especially if there is a five minute permanent fix out there.
