Message: Hey i need some advice quick! I tried putting those alternator and crank pulleys on the other day. I don't think I got the alternator one tightened down all the way and it was coming loose and as i was headed to work the belt slipped off. i had to cut the belt to get it untangled.
I had it towed to the dealer to try to get it repaired under my extended warranty. I think it ruined the pulley and the alternator bearings so the alternator is shot too not to mention the belt.
I called them earlier and they said they might not could do it because the pulley wasn't the right one it came with and someone put a different one on and didn't use a spacer. ( i didn't know it had a spacer!!)
i told them they were on when i got the truck( i bought it used)
help me guys , do you think they will cover it or am i gonna have to pay 300 for an alternator and then buy a pulley and then another belt?
thanks guys
sorry to ramble on.......

Message: Play dumb, and state "How was I supposed to know there was a different pulley on there, and by the way what is a pulley?" also tell them it ran fine since you owned it and you never even looked under the hood.
good luck

Message: Sorry but it sounds like you'll be out some cash. If they do make you pay for it, buy an aftermarket one, I would suggest NAPA or a repitable auto part store. Just be careful of Autozone.

Message: No offense, but it seems that you were the cause of these problems and you should have paid for them.
Next time read the instructions, do the job right or have someone that can, do the job for you.
