I had the Body Control Module replaced by an auto electric shop. P/N 5114190 The shop was not able to program the keyfob doorlock system. Can I do this myself without having to take it to the Dealer?

Jimmy9190, you seem to be a very bright fellow. Can you take a whack at my question? It's an 01 Quad 4x4 with a 4.7 manual trans. It's got 155,000 on it. Thanks for your time.
Bill

bill, try here.

just copy and paste that address into your browsers address bar. they may work for you. if not it looks like if your local dodge dealer is friendly(in these times they should be) you could get it done for free or you'll have to pay.

KS Bill,

If you don't get the answer you are looking for and the 'stealership' is not cooperative, I had good luck with these folks with answering my trailer brake controller wiring. http://www.justanswer.com/

The guy I dealt with had 18 years as a technician. They get a couple bucks out of you to give an answer, but they get you an answer. You even get to re-ask questions should there need to be clarification. I think we corresponded back and forth 5-6 times before I clicked the 'accept' button. Cost me $9.

Hope this helps.

KansasBill, so what was the result? What worked to reprogram your keyfobs after the BCM was replaced?

Curious as I have a couple of minor problems that I think are BCM/CTM (Central Timer Module) related, but didn't want to replace it given what I thought was the requirement to get the dealership involved.

Thanks, Rod.

Glad to know it was easy to fix. I did not see this post until today. Glad to know Daddio was able to help out, he knows his stuff on Dakota's, so do many others here.

Jimmy
