Message: Just a thought, wouldn't taking the rubber flap off all together get more air to your intake. If your concerned agout the a/c lines, some insulating tape should provide some protection.

Message: How much does creating a heat shield help with performance? I see a lot of people creating different things for a heat shield, but I never really hear anything about how much it actually helps. I know that the colder the air the better, but is it a noticeable difference with or without the shield?
