Message: Bob- get the weed out of your old hippie ears. People like you(greens) are filing lawsuits against new refinnerys, pipelines, and drilling constantly. To deny that the envirs are doing this and to blame everything on the oil companys shows that you have you head in the sand (and not oilsand). You have old dem talking points ingrained into you weed baked brain and can,t let in any fresh ideas. We need to go after ALL energy. Wind, sun, OIL, gas(so all you easterners can get off heatingoil) and nukes. We have to drill now because we will need everything we can get in the 5 to 10 years to grow. The 3% that you throw out is a dem talking point. It gov. only lists proven fields. The size of the recent find in the dakotas was downsized by the goverment. People on the testrigs still want to know why. Large offshore areas that are offlimits to the oil industrys are know to contain oil deposits but are unproven and are not in the goverments list. Point is we have more oil than you libbs say we do. A lot of refinnerys are landlocked a cann,t expand anymore. Envir lawsuits prevent new ones and we know you are an envir. greeny. with people like you out there-we are all boned.

Looks like ALL activity and volumes are up over the last 5 years. The oil companies are doing all that they want to do to meet the demand. The truth is that no one has filed lawsuits to block them in recent years - the oil companies simply don't want to build more. In fact, they routinely lose money on refining gasoline, which is another reason they import some of it, which is cheaper.

Per the DOE, in the Northeast, 10.6 million households use natural gas; 6.4 million use fuel oil; 4.8 million use electricity. So I guess it's all in how you distort the data (= lie). Yes, the Northeast uses 75% of the country's fuel oil - because it's COLD here. Duh. And we have the oldest, least efficient houses in the country. So the problem is more about conservation and efficiency than switching people off oil.
As far as going after all forms of energy, in New England we get power from nuclear, hydroelectric, wind, cogeneration (trash-to-energy) as well as natural gas, coal and oil. I support solar both in philosophy and with my wallet - I've invested heavily in solar stocks with very successful companies. I've superinsulated my house. My cars get 30-34 mpg. My Dakota gets 20-22 mpg. Can you say you've done anything? (except spew verbal diarrhea)

Each year we, like india and china have more vehicles on the roads which means everyone demands more fuel.Supplies are not growning(can you say GreenPeace?). Tight supplies mean higher prices...Drill now starting with you. When asked about $4 gas-Oboma said that he just didn,t want it to go up that fast! If he wins- You will really see high prices and gas lines. Ah yes-workers heaven. Bicycles and goverment assigned appartments...God love you libbs..."
Of course someone else must be using my name (ex:LOL)
I not a liberal and never will be! Of course I happen to agree with you on most of you points there. If the Demo's get there way come Nov.2, the sure; you can expect everything to go up including pay-roll taxes. Possibly corporate gains tax "if he could".
The truth is we (The United States) would have much better off if we had already adapted an energy policy back 30’ years ago that would allow for more drilling off shore and in the mainland.
Also the use of better alternative fuels such as CNG in the larger cities such as L.A, NY, and Chicago would help cut down on smog.
But anyway, OPEC made a statement saying that $80.00 barrel is just to low. Might go broke! Another reason is now plan on cutting back on production so Russia and all these other rouge dictator countries and restart there markets

Message: Bob lies when he says that no one is filing lawsuites to stop powerplants and refinnerys. Libbs filed to stop both in kansas this past spring and got the governor to back it with a veto(she was hoping for the VP slot on the dem ticket). Its cold in Minn. too bob but we use gas not oil! Using oil is a choice your fellow eastern make. Yes dumbass, we insulate here too. lots of old farmhouses. My last two cars pulled down 31 and are decent size vehicles. Millions of you pissants have hunted for years trying to prove that the oil companys are ripping you off and come up empty. Just empty retoric. You believe and thats that. It has to be the eastern water. We have wind farms out here too but somedays the wind doesn,t blow. Then you have to have powerplant backups, but the greens block them and the EPA delay them with envir studys. Oh well-I,m talking to deaf ears. Keep on toking bob.

You still haven't offered your explaination as to how the so-called "world demand for oil" could all of a sudden quadruple in 6 years beginning in 2002. Your "demand" theory doesn't hold up. It does not match population growth figures or technology advancement figures.
Take a look at what is happening with the economy. The two big things causing that are the fraudulent advertizements in the media, and the oil prices. Do you see the government doing anything to ban lie advertizing or cut oil taxes, or anything to remedy the root causes of the economic crisis? NO. They are only claiming to fix it with something that will only make themselves richer and the situation worse.
You really can't see it?

If your mind ever clears, stop and read again. I never said the oil companies are ripping me off. Perhaps YOU feel that they are doing that to you. They're just responding to the world market, over which we have almost no influence.
We have no problem building new power plants here. There's a natural gas one going in near me, another existing one being expanded. And our landfill put in a small power plant to burn off the methane and generate over 1 MW, essentially for free.

Message: google China and oil. then do it again for India. The number of vechicles on the road in china has more than quadrupled in the past five years. They have built over 600 new citys in the past 10 years. Bob- the methane/landfill powerplants are a good idea and I,ve seen a number of them out here. On a side note I believe that they should hammermill all landfill trash, pull out the metals, and burn the rest in a high temp incenerator/powerplant. You would recover the BTU,s and reduce the volume going to the landfill.

Of all the industrialized nations of the world, how could China alone when averaged into the growth, be a direct multiplyer?
If that were true, then China's demand, not the world's in general, is higher, therefore, just as things are more expensive in Alaska due to demand exceeding supply there, China and only China's oil should be quadruple. NOT higher in other countries where the demand is not that high.
That is like saying that because a loaf of bread is $20 in Alaska, it should be $20 everywhere.

Message: OK jeffey-I,ll type slow so you can keep up. Remember the prices of walkmen,Ipods and Iphones when they came out? Everyone wanted them NOW, damn the price. Chinas growth has exploded over the last 10 year and more so the last 5. They can pay what ever it costs to get what they need. the WORLD price is set by such demand. If the U.S. doesn,t want to pay world price- they don,t get the oil. Its in short supply(was till last week). Finally, if your area is using a EPA mandated fuel blend-and its in short supply-and it takes a couple of weeks to get a waver-you will pay more(Chicago, several years ago)(alt last week). As far as prices in alaska-Its shipping costs that drives up the cost of bread in alaska. It costs a fortune to ship anything up there and move it.

That confirms price gouging if I ever heard it.
It's called taking advantage. I pods and walkmen are not things people need to function in society. The way society is designed, you need oil or be an outcast. It is something everybody needs to be a part of society, so they have to pay whatever it is.
The greed is catching up to the gouging oil corporations taking advantage of this. Bye Bye world economy. At least humanity did something to stop Hitler. Wish I could say the same for stopping these crooks tearing down our civilization with their greed and taking advantage.
What were all those people talking about when they keep saying things like "there is no shortage" and "there is plenty of oil in reserve to last decades so the price can be the same as it was but humanity just has a couple of decades to invent alternative energy sources".
