Message: One of the guys did a big write up on here awhile back. He used larger brakes from a Ram or Durango. (Can't remember which)
He included step by step instructions and all.
(allmost think even pictures)
I forgot how to do a search on here,
I'm sure one of the guys can post the link.
(so you can do a search)

Message: Dakota = Durango = Dakota.
As long as you match up year (except 2003 and later) and 4x4 or 2x4.

Message: I think the write up Hey is referring to is changing brakes to those from a 2003 durango.
the 03 durango and dakota had dual piston calipers while the earlier ones like my 02 had single piston ones.
He listed the parts you need, calipers, rotors, control arms (I think). I believe it was called something like
Dan's beer budget dakota brake upgrade ala durango. And no, I am not the Dan that wrote it.

Message: I hope those 35" tires on your '00 aren't on 15" rims. Don't know if it is mentioned in the write up you are referring to, but you'll need bigger wheels to clear those brakes. Might still be worthwhile though - many of us consider the '00 brakes to be marginal for our trucks, even with stock size rubber.

I bet you are used to working with inadequate parts, seeing how daddio stated in another post how small your member is.

Message: I actually did Dan's Beer Budget brake job, Wasn't really too bad to do. It made a big difference in stopping. Actually have brakes when you stab em. I was tired of those old sticking calipers every other year. I haven't had to touch em since. Great Project.;

Message: Crap, the "http://bigdakotabrakes.gotdns.com/brakes.html" link no longer works. Does anybody have these instructions handy to send to me? I'm about to purchase the parts and would like to have Dan's instructions handy. I want to make sure that I receive the correct knuckles, and Dan mentioned the distance between the caliper mounting bolts. Please let me know, thanks.
