Subject: Heated Mirrors IP: Logged
Message: Hey. I've noticed awhile ago that my right side mirror doesn't defog or defrost when I hit the defrost button. Does anyone know how you would go about replacing or repairing the heated mirrors? Thanks. Also thanks you guys saved me over a hundred $ with the tip on replacing the resistor pack for my heater fan.

Message: I've been curious of this for quite some time also. The dealer seems to think you have to replace the entire mirror. That sounds like a sad state of affairs to me. Sad enough that I've been walking my sorry butt around the truck and wiping off the mirror manually for 5 years now. Sooner or later, I may just bite the bullet and buy a couple mirrors. Anyone with any troubleshooting or repair experience on this problem?

Message: Okey, I've found a couple places that sell replacement mirrors, but I'm not sure how much of a job it's gonna be to actually change it. Has anyone poped the inside door panels? I've got the power windows/door locks.

Message: what year is your truck? you should be able to pop the mirror glass off the mirror motor and disconnect the heater wire from the outside
