Message: both a Magnaflow and Flowmaster 70 series sounded very similar on my 4.7
both quiet at idle, the Magnaflow a little louder at full throtle.
Unlike their advertising, the Magnaflow's internal 'packing' did settle after a while, getting progressively louder with time.
But overall I prefer the Flowmaster BBII 70 series,
the sound clip on their website sounds very much like my truck does.
Power, the Magnaflow did 'feel' more powerfull but only at 4000+ rpm's.

Message: As I posted in another thread, finally doing exhaust. I called several shops who told me the flowmaster 50 SUV was quieter inside the cab than the flowmaster Delta 50. I didn't ask which was quieter outside. From looking at flowmaster's website, looks like both have same sound outside but 50 SUV has less resonance inside.
If it's too loud, I'm sure i'll be hearing it from my neighbors. Sometimes I drive my truck to work instead of my avenger. I leave home around 4:15 AM.

Message: a 70 series Flowmaster is barely louder than a stock muffler until you floor it.
WHY:
if I paid extra to get a V-8 in it,
and I pay more in gas to drive it around,
I expect a nice V-8 sound while I'm driving.

Message: dude good answer, same reason why we put a real tire on our trucks, cuz now it really looks like a truck, not like a highway queen, so when you get stuck with your all season radials, ill come pull you out with something like a discovery stt cuz i dont get stuck!!!!

Message: Dude,
That's a good answer, and I respect it. I personally don't think modern V8 engines sound at all like a V8 should, but that's just my opinion. The main thing is that you like the sound. The joke is when people want a muffler that's loud outside the cab, but quiet inside. Like anyone else cares what your truck sounds like! I like to AVOID drawing attention to myself!

Message: I remember test driving a Dodge Magnum. Man I just love how this car handled on the road, but the sound was not there, neither was a nice large windshield for viewing.
