Message: I would like any help you can give me. This morning, I backed out of the driveway-no problems. Everything was normal. About a half hour later, I go to back up the truck-no go. It doesn't have a reverse. I let it set all day, tried it again
about six hours later-no reverse. It seems to go forward alright. Any help would be appreciated. 2001 3.9L 4X4

Message: Did you have the trans. serviced lately? If so check the type of fluid, they should have used type 4. Pep Boys put type 3 in mine and I lost all forward. I brough it back, they flushed it and added type 4 and I haven't had a problem since.

Message: Thanks for the info. I ended up taking the truck to AAMCO. They said the tranny broke a snap ring and there are a lot of metal shavings-a complete rebuild!! Be back on the road by Fri. Thanks again!
