I would like any help you can give me. This morning, I backed out of the driveway-no problems. Everything was normal. About a half hour later, I go to back up the truck-no go. It doesn't have a reverse. I let it set all day, tried it again
about six hours later-no reverse. It seems to go forward alright. Any help would be appreciated. 2001 3.9L 4X4

Did you have the trans. serviced lately? If so check the type of fluid, they should have used type 4. Pep Boys put type 3 in mine and I lost all forward. I brough it back, they flushed it and added type 4 and I haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for the info. I ended up taking the truck to AAMCO. They said the tranny broke a snap ring and there are a lot of metal shavings-a complete rebuild!! Be back on the road by Fri. Thanks again!

GT, what is AAMCO soaking you for the rebuild?

Also remember, 99 and 9/10ths of tranny rebuild
shops HAVE KNOW IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING! Get
EVERYTHING in writting before you let the MORONS
turn a bolt to begin their so called rebuild.
