I have 255/70R16 tires on my truck now. I am planning on buying a 3" lift here pretty soon but I need new tires bad. I was thinking of putting 255/70R16 in the front and 285/75R16 in the rear. What do you all think? Anything I should know about? What is the biggest size tire I can get away w/ on my stock suspension right now?

Depending on year and model:
255/70R16 are 30" tall and will fit front or rear without a lift.
285/75R16 are 33" tall and will fit the rear without a lift.
If you have 4x4, it's gonna suck first time you shift into 4WD.
If you have a Limited Slip Diff in back, have your spare tire be the same size as the tires you mount in the rear.

Its an 03 Dakota Quad Cab. Unfortinitly I had to go ahead and buy 255/70R16 for the rear and the front. The tires I had on there before this afternoon were so bald that I couldnt last another week for my body lift to come in. Thanks guys for the help and I will probably upgrade tire sizes when I get my body lift on. Could I get some wheel spacers for the front and rear to widen my stance? Will they hurt anything? thanks

Wheel spacers will move the wheel/tire outboard, which will stress the wheel bearings more than if you bought new rims with the offset/backspacing you need for an equivalent stance.
