Subject: 440 rebuild IP: Logged
Message: i just bought a 440 and plan on rebuilding it over the winter. i wanna make it absolutely scream. how much do you guys think ill spend on doin it. pretty much the only thing that will be stock is the block.

Message: $6000 + uncle sam's tax
have a neighbor with a 440 in his dart. its got Indy heads on it and few other things. runs high 10s and he drives it down to the track 20-miles away.

Message: Why leave the block stock ? Might as well clearance it for a stoker crank too; if you're replacing everything else.

Message: Before you go copying someone elses build, it would be wise to say what weight vehicle and what gearing you are each running - no one build is good for all uses. Cam and intake choices especially should be chosen for your intended aplication.

ya got camshaft, heads, rockers, pushrods, intake manifold to all think about.
