Message: Thanx for that info, sad though it is. I agree with many of the posts there, it's a bait and switch. I've used M1 for years because it weas a true synthetic, inexpensive, and easy to find. Now that it's a blend, and still priced as a synthetic, I won't be using it any more.
Looks like I'm about to become an Amsoil convert once I use up what's in my basement.

Message: I agree with "Mobil one fan" Although I myself have seen no Group III oferings as yet by Mobil. It makes sence they will compete with the cheaper products already available. But one thing for sure. There a very large company and anyone thinking right has to agree there not about to self distruct by passing there good true product for the fake stuff.
I read another forum daily with tons of oil information in it. I have not seen any Molil bad mouthing so far and I don't expect to. There is a lot to read daily in there and it's posible I have missed it but I doubt it. That would have been a headliner subject.

You might want to take a look for yourselfs.

Well, you both referance the same forum; which means you did miss it. I read through most of those 23 pages that Lurkin referanced. Very compelling data. Hmmm.

Message: OK.... I found it. Pretty scary right now. But, It seems that only the Mobil 15-50 was checked if I got it right and was a mix of what looked like Group 3/4/ and 5. I'm going to hang in there till more information is available. I have one more oil change for each rig in the shop and no more mobil filters left now. By then all should be known one way or the other. One thing for sure. I will go the amsoil route and WIX filters If this all turns out true. Buy, Mobil is going to get killed over this. Sorry for my stupidity. Nothing like being educated.

Message: OK........ I looked lastnight but didn't dig that deep. I had to be up at 5 am. I'm using EP 10-30 . Most likely if those other 2 were degraded, so was the one I use. So, for sure I will use up what I have (one more oil change each rig) and Change to wix filters and amsoil. That's a year away from spring. We'll see how it goes. Thank you for being more efficiant then I was. I don't have the slip on these jugs but they came from walmart. Next trip there I'm going to ask if I can return them. Then I'll just go with amsoil now for my next change.

OBIO3,
In general, shipping averages .50 (50 cents) +/- per quart, so the price is $5.70 + .50 +/- = $6.30 +/- per quart delivered to your door. You are only charged UPS shipping on the weight and there is NO handling charge.
Your order will probably come out of our Kansas or Nevada distribution center. Give me your zip code and I can give you exact information.
The "wholesale" price per gallon is $22.30 + shipping (cheaper by the case, 4 gallons). Amsoil is also available in 2.5 gallon bottles ($53.75), 30 gallon drums ($580) and 55 gallon drums ($1,007) if anyone is interested.
My email link should work below my site name.
How do you take advantage of the FREE offer?
(1) Send Me an Email with your contact information.
(2) ** Call my brother Duane Roark, also an Amsoil Dealer and a Certified Mechanic _ (Gasoline / Diesel / Navy Helicopter / Legends Race Cars / Etc.). Duane's AMSOIL phone number # 1-866-212-8040 (toll-free).
Tell him you came from this website and want to take advantage of the SPECIAL OFFER.
Thank you and we will do everything in our power so that you are a satisfied customer.

Message: Steve....... Thought I read it would be 5.40 per quart by the case . I'm undesided If I will get 1 or 2 cases till I get some information I need. Guess your brother will be the information giver. Also assuming this will be done with my visa card. Also sounds like this comes in gallons. As I read it just to clarify. were talking 4 quarts to a jug and 4 jugs to a case. this makes it Somewhat a pain to drain out a quart to top off with. also one case will not do 2 oil changes in 2 rigs. Do you not sell 5 quart jugs. So so much nicer to use.

OBIO3,
You are correct, the price is $5.40 per quart if order by the case. I did not mention that since it was mentioned in an earlier thread.
Call my brother, Duane Roark. He is a certified diesel mechanic and owns a diesel Ram P/U. He will help you with your order to max the value and get the lowest price.
As stated, Duane is also an Amsoil Dealer and a Certified Mechanic _ (Gasoline / Diesel / Navy Helicopter / Legends Race Cars / Etc.). Duane's AMSOIL phone number # 1-866-212-8040 (toll-free). If he is away from his desk, leave a phone number and best time to call back.
Tell him you came from this website and want to take advantage of the SPECIAL OFFER.

Look what you started! ;-)
And, the 4.7 takes 6 quarts. Somebody mentioned 5 quarts, might have a 5.2 / 5.9.
The M1 I'm using now says full synthetic. If they aren't going to lower their price, I'll be switching too.

Message: I'm confused. Is there more then one type of Mobil 1? In the stores that sell it here (around Toronto), they only sell the full synthetic for $9 a quart. Are you guys talking about a different type of Mobil 1? I thought Mobil 1 only made full synthetic?
Is their full synthetic not 'truely' a full synthetic?

Message: Yes, they make more than 1 kind, 3 varieties I think. One's a blend, one's supposed to be pure synthetic, and another for extended performance. Looks like these guys are questioning the integrety of even their best type.

Message: To me it's no longer questioning but appears to be fact determined by test. I'm not going to say yes it is or isn't. Make your own decision there. My personal point is I'm not taking chances. I want what I pay for and there now seems to be substantial doubt that I'm getting it. I been running amsoil in my Dakota gear train for a long time. I'm very happy with it. especially the performance when it hits 30 or 40 below. Shifts just as well as a warm day at startup. It just makes sense to go with amsoil under the apparent curcomstances. I'm not trying to sell anyone on amsoil. I'm simply stating my reasoning so everybody understands it is simply a personal choice.
