Message: Which pads go good with the brembo slotted rotors?? I hate the squeak of the pads I have now. I put the brake quiet stuff on the other day but they still squeak a little bit. I have stock rotors now but plan to get the brembos. Thanks for any help! (sorry if this is the wrong area to post)

Message: My experance has Been the more you pay for the pads, the harder the materal and the harder they are the more they squeel. this isn't wrote in stone. Just my experance. Big city cab drivers put the cheapest pads on there cars as soon as they buy them. Very little to no noise but they wear out faster. Good part is, they don't wear out the rotors. Here's one of interest. My rotors worped and I replaced them with NAPA's best. Jobber price was 54 bucks and change each. They do have a cheaper one. you don't want them. I never changed my original pads as they looked like new yet. Here's the deal. They squacked a little for about 2 weeks and not a peep sense. no answer as to why and I don't care. they now have 70,000 on them and still better then half there. I'm impressed.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: I use Hawk pads on my roadster. They work really well, and make only a little dust. Very quiet, too.
So I put a set of Hawk SUV pads on my Dakota. I'm not impressed. They don't feel any better than the stock pads I replaced at 75K miles.
I'm going to swap to carbon-metallic pads by Performance Friction. They are available at Autozone. I used them on a '95 Ram, and they were definatly better than stock.
Ceramic pads only have one advantage - they are quiet. They still squeal, but at a frequency so high people can't hear it. They don't work any better than any other premium pad, and worse than some. Some ceramic pads are not recommended for towing.
