Message: TPS I believe is supposed to improve your shift response...as in, if you floor it, it's supposed to downshift faster rather than bog and eventually downshift.
It's not so much a "mod" but it's to help with sensors that aren't calibrated so well...there's a prime voltage range they should be in and some are way under it. So you do the "mod" to put it into that range. If it's already in that range, it's usually recommended to leave it alone. Okay, nevermind...it's to improve the off-idle stumble some Dakotas have.
Anyway...directions (with pics) can be found at the following link. I've done it...it's quite simple even for those of us who are not mechanically inclined.

CPS advances your timing up to around 4 degrees...I created a how-to a while back. If you have a 3.9L with the auto tranny, it'll be almost identical to this. If you have a manual, the sensor location is a lil different, but the directions are similar I believe...I've also heard it's easier to access with a manual tranny.

IAT is done to make the engine think it's running cooler (you relocate the sensor from the intake manifold to somewhere in your intake tube where it's pulling in cooler air)...and in response, it richens your fuel mixture giving you more power. This mod is more of a trial and error mod...some people have said it caused poor gas mileage and caused it to run TOO rich. If it does that, you just gotta put it back to stock. Instructions can be found here...never done this mod so can't say how it worked for me. When I get bored one day, maybe I'll do it...although not sure where I'll relocate it since my intake is an open element intake that sits right on the throttle body.
Direction can once again be found here:

The above link is also good for TONS of other things involving Dakotas.

Message: GB2000, you can relocate the IAT sensor anywhere that it is cooler than the intake manifold. You can even jump it with the resistor of your choice making it think that the temperature is always the same. In the past they have even sold a little variable resistor thingy for prices ranging from $20-50. I guess there really is one born every minute.

Message: GB 2000,
That is an awesome 'how to' for the CPS mod.
Too Bad it doesn't apply to the 4.7.

Message: Thanks...I actually took all those pics after I did the CPS mod. It was too dark for pics the night I actually did it. So the following day I went out and went through all the steps again and took pics that time. lol
