Thank you for noticing and commenting on what I said.
If correction is necessary, I want to know. I don't want to say something my mother would be embarrassed about.

The assumption was, after topping off the tank every day and then dividing the miles driven by the gallons added, and therefore used, to determine my miles per gallon that; when the average miles per gallon went from a consistant 18 to 19 consistantly, it must have been because it took 100,000 miles to break in and get it's best mileage.
I am open to other theories.

The intent of the arithmetic lesson is simply to illustrate the most accurate method of measurement. Perhaps there are readers who don't know how to calculate MPG, like we do, and they'll benefit from the description. We all learn new ways to do things here, if we dig through enough chaff.

As to your comment on my knowledge of Amsoil products; a simple response would be to educate me, and other readers as to the actual facts.

I apologise if my enthusiasm is missinterpreted. I'm just telling of my experiences.

Thank God, we live in a country where we have the ability to make our own choices.
There are places where you could be in serious trouble for writing down your thoughts, as you do here. Lucky for you, you don't live there.
You may just scroll right on by anybodys post you want to. That is choice.
No need for a government program or a law to protect you from Amsoil users.........like your TV, you can change the channel.

After a while, the rings seat better in the bore, and your engine is broken in. I watched my Harley go from 30 to 40 mpg as it broke in after a few thousand miles (and then back to 30 as I modded it heavily). Shatto seems to think the process took 100,000 due to his Amsoil usage - I can see where people would be skeptical that it took that long (I am too); but do you understand now ?

Shatto you do tend to push the Amsoil a little to much and guys on the site do not like to be told what to use, We like to try things for ourselves.
Shatto you insist on putting Amsoil into almost every single post that you make. Amsoil may be a great product, I have not tried it, but after a while some of us get tired of hearing about how great it is and how much it has affected your life.

Looks like shatto has proven that an engine will break in sooner using dino oil and enjoy the benefits of higher gas mileage thousands of miles sooner than if you use Amsoil.
