My last name is Fisher and I live in Colorado.
I use Amsoil in my sleds, my Wrangler, my bikes, and my SUV's.
I am part owner of a 4x4 shop and I checked my last invoice to get the Amsoil price and called the shop to get the Mobil1 price.
Steve is my Amsoil dealer and has been for years.
Had to defend him.

Two things:
Number 1:
My grandfather used to sell crude oil to QUAKER STATE. We pumped from the ground the LOWEST grade of crude oil (lots of sulphur and impurities) and sold it to QS for them to make motor oil, which at the time was the cheapest motor oil on the shelf (and always on the sale rack).
There are different qualities of crude oil, some are high quality and some are pure C.R.A.P. We happened to own land and drilling rights to pure c.r.a.p. So bad that when oil was averaging $20 barrel we could only get $14 - $16 barrel.
That is why Quaker State used to be the cheapest oil on the shelf. It was made from really c.r.a.p.p.y. crude.
That 99 cent stuff from that 99 Cent Store. That oil is made from the same c.r.a.p.p.y. crude oil we used to pump (or the bottom of the barrel) and is full of gunk.
ALL CRUDE OIL IS DIFFERENT: Some crude oil from the ground can be black, brown, reddish or even green. Depends upon what type of prehistoric organic materials died to make the crude oil (algae or other water dwelling creatures). SCIENCE LESSON: Crude is derived from everything associated with the water, and Coal is derived from everything associated with the land.
Number 2:
I rechecked my Amsoil preferred customer invoice. I paid $5.70/quart for Amsoil (6 qts and a filter) and Amsoil is even cheaper by the case. I did not order a case this time because I was having it shipped to my son who is away at school. If I sent him a case he might trade it for beer or something.
$5.70/quart for Amsoil and $7.99/quart for Mobil1 EP
Amsoil's 25k mile oil vs. M1's 15k mile oil.
Again, .................
Amsoil is the better bargain (and the better oil).

funny how you missed the 2 independent studies we posted a short while back (eh steve?)
amsoil thickened up so bad after 15,000
that the 5/30 came out looking more like 15/50!
mobil1 however remained the same
they also showed that Mobil1 gave better MPG's!!!!!!

My grandfather was an astronaut and drilled oil when he handed on the moon. I think he sold it to Mobil. It was full of moon sand and rock, but we still used it in our sleds, our bikes, our trucks, our cooking stoves, our go-carts, our lawn mowers and our station wagons. I think I listed everything.

no modern day fluid will wreck a engine or tranny. not M1 not amsoil.
only a bad engine or tranny, or one that is abused will blow up.
what better fluids do is keep the engine or tranny like new.

I did not see the oil tests or the comments about blown engines or the story about the plane.
I really don't care if they were only posted in a forum.
My experience is that I have been using Amsoil for 20 yrs with my lawn care business (many trucks, riding mowers, push mowers, weedeaters, chainsaws, hedgers, etc.) and we work the $HIT of of them.
Never a failure, and I highly recommend Amsoil. My crew abuses the equipment but they can't kill it with Amsoil protection.
Maybe your tests used the wrong fluids.

I guess you missed my mention of my many trucks, all of which are Dodge (Rams and Dakota's), all of which are 100% Amsoil front to back.
Plus riding mowers, push mowers, weedeaters, chainsaws, hedgers, etc.
