Subject: half ton components IP: Logged
Message: i read somewhere that dakotas are considered half tons. is it true that they have half ton suspension and everything except the larger body?
please help me out me and my friend are having a big argument over this and he keeps calling my truck a little quarter ton and i want to prove him wrong

Message: according to the Dakota brochure, the standard payload for the 4x2 models and R/T is 1275 lbs and the 4x4 and quad cabs is 1450 lbs. But optional ratings go up to 2000 lbs on regular and club cab only. This is of course will be less depending on weight of passengers and other equipment.

Message: Good info from Jerry - and our Daks actually have smaller bodies than full size half ton trucks - your friend must be thinking of mini trucks. Like Jerry says, our trucks are actually rated for more than a half ton. I've out plowed the full size half ton Chevy we have at work - tell your friend he's an idiot.

Message: no sorry i was trying to ask if the dakota is pretty much the same thing as the ram 1500 except the ram has a larger body...i cant find the website you were talking about
