I have an 87 3.9L 4x4 that if you don't let it warm up completely it will flood out and not restart until you dry the plugs. I have to pump the gas twice and then let it run thru a whole aray of spitting and sputtering and then fast idle, then normal idle (At least 15 minutes). if you try to drive it be for it's ready it will load up and you must hold the petal to the floor and wait for it to clean itself out. This is worse in the winter, but it happens also in the summer. Any Ideas?
thanks

by chance is it fuel injected?? I figure not, but if it is it could be plugged fuel injctors. If not, maybe its a clogged fuel filter or something?? Good Luck

I might tend to think that it could be a stuck float in the float bowl, allowing it continue to pump gas into the carb. It could be the automatic chock as well, which is usually a bi-metal coil, when it warms up the chock opens or if the chock is stuck it could produce the same results. Just my two cents......

I forgot to mention that I have had the carb. rebuilt, the choke system works and doesn't stick, I've replaced the fuel filter.
