Subject: turn signal fast IP: Logged
Message: I tried to sign up for a membership so I could do a search, but it will take 3-5 days to complete my registration.
Anyway... my left turn signal is OK. The right one click twice as fast as the left one. From the Outside, the front blinker is flashing at the same fast pace as the arrow on the dash, and the rear light doesn't work at all. Any ideas? Maybe a relay?

Message: Light bulb is burnt out. The flashing relays work on circuit resistance, if the resistance is reduced (i.e. bulb removed or burnt out) it will blink faster.
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.

Message: Thanks for the info Doug... I had a feeling I needed to check the bulb... everything else seemed to be working correctly.
I see your ships... Former Navy? When I read your philosophy of "If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway", I knew you were either Marine or Sailor. Marine here...

Message: OK Marine. Listen up.
When a light bulb is supposed to light up but doesn't, that's a clue!

Message: Your blinker will blink faster when you have a bulb out. It's your vehicles way of letting you know that you have a bulb out. Should be an easy fix.

Message: I've got a 93 Dak and just recently when i hit the turn signal it just stays on and doesn't blink at all. Its the same for both sides... No blubs are burnt out and they do flash when i hit the hazards... Any thoughts...

Message: Control could be shot - not sure about your '93; but in most vehicles its a small, can shaped module under the dash. There is usually another one just like it for the flashers; if so just swap them to see if that's the problem. Do the hazard flashers work ?

Message: Yes the hazards do work. When I hit the turn signal for either direction, the bulbs just stay on and never flash... This is really strange cause it just started doing this. At first they began to be slow and now they don't flash at all

Message: No ! Like I already said, there is one control for each system - look at my earlier post for the most likely location in most vehicles...

Message: Okay thanks kowalski... I got it fixed today. Yea, they work again. Kind of annoying to manualy turn them on and off to make them appear to flash or not use them at all. Thanks again.
