They are changing away from what they use to a more Politically Correct fuel.

Message: The stuff you use in your truck, 2003flrt, is Politically Correct fuel; because the formulation has not been determined by Petrol Scientists or auto engineers, it has been mandated by Polititions, based on the protests made by Environmental Activists.

Message: Gasoline is not mandated by politicians.Gasoline is mandated by supply and demand of a capitalistic society. What is cheap that drives the system. As gas prices rise to over $4/gal.People will look for alternative fuels(look at the biodiesel interest that has occurred and the stories of how companies that make components to produce these fuels have increased there production greatly).Maybe not enough yet to effect gas market but shows basics of supply and demand and the scales of economy. And how do environmental activists mandate gasoline. They are the voice that have helped put laws into effect to reduce hydrocarbon emissions and clean up environment.(I think you meant Oil lobbyists).

Message: Maybe where you come from, not in Caleefornia. (A little Arnold speak, there.)
In the Golden State, polititians mandated the use of MTBE in gasoiline to clean the air. After we got to pay Billions of dollars in increased costs, which are always passed on (even by Ben & Jerry's) to the consumer, Right Wing Hate Radio started a movement and we voted the removal of the stuff that had been polluting the water. MTBE has been removed from the fuel supply in California now. Care to venture a wild guess how much it cost for the changeover to the newly mandated (in spite of the fact Chevron and other refineries said they could make gasoiline do exactly what the environmentalists wanted without the use of...) Ethinol, be added to California gas.
So, we paid to have MTBE put in the gas.
We paid to remove MTBE from the gas.
We paid to put Ethinol in the gas.
We will pay forever for MTBE cleanup.
Why? Environmentalists insisted we do all of the above.
Free markets had nothing to do with it.
In fact, my friend, the oil industry is the most regulated and controlled industry.

Message: your point is much more clear since you explained it.If you call gas "politically correct fuel" then the use of any other type of fuel should draw punishment from society."politically motivated/mandated fuel formulation" is a more accurate term.

Message: Long time ago, I read a story about Ethinol in Brazil. Apparently their main problem was that their version rotted out the exhaust system.
