Subject: Dodge OEM PCV valve IP: Logged
Message: I took the advice from this forum and got a Dodge PCV, and just wanted to say there is a real difference between a store bought one.
First, the inside is METAL; the plunger and the area where the plunger rides.
And the PCV didn't chatter like crazy.
Only problem... it was 9 bucks.
Thanks guys.

Message: I did the same thing a few weeks back. I could hear the rattling from the autozone one, even inside the truck. I tried the V8 one in my V6, but was afraid it would build up too much pressure, and that's why I got the mopar one.

Message: I agree!
I've been buying them from the dealer ever since new. Except once: when I did try an Autozone (Deutsch) PCV. Didn't notice more noise, but I yanked it 'cause it leaked oil from the seam!
The blue plastic the Mopar valve is made from just happens to match several of my other underhood items (ignition, plug wires, air filter, etc.)
...Just put in a new Mopar one today, BTW: paid $6 for it...

Message: this is embarrassing, but where is the PCV on the 4.7? (2001) I cannot find it, the service manual doesn't tell me specifically, and the parts store tells me there isn't one.

Message: Can't help with your 4.7, just wanted to say that I've developed a good relationship with the parts lady at my local dealership.
When I have a question like yours, I just visit Bella and she really helps. She even makes printouts of her PC screen for me.
Lucky for me, the dealership is only 5 miles away.
Anyway, just a suggestion to try and do the same.

Changing them is waste of money!!!
