Message: I changed both of mine a few weeks ago. Used Castrol Full Synthetic 75w 90 marine oil.Wal-Mart had this on the shelf marked half off so i decided to change both axles. And I put half a quart of Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabilizer in both. Its been a month and there working great. If you have Limited Slip get the additives.

Message: I have 2 thoughts here. Marine gear oil is designed to run in gears that turn a whole lot faster then your dif and it runs in a controled invirement UNDER water. I'm not so sure this is a good idea. Think I would be contacting a tech at Castrol to get there perspective on it to bec safe.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: Generally the difference between "marine" and auto gear lube (assuming the same rating) is the "marine" lube has additives in to turn milky and mix with water. It will save an outdrive whereas an auto lube will seperate and cause rust and no lube = bad.

Message: Go to the Amsoil site, they list the fluid capacities of cars/trucks. If I remember correctly, it was like 4 qts. for the front and rear diffs on mine (with C205 and 8.25).
