Subject: dakota engine noise IP: Logged
Message: when my 3.9 in my 97 dakota is running there is a rattling noise coming from under the intake manifold or valve covers, it gets louder as i rev higher, its not too loud but its there, it has 130,000 miles on it. what could it be. also there is a ticking when the engine is turned off for a couple minutes after

Message: When I had a routine tune-up performed on my 3.9, the PCV valve was replaced and it now rattles. It's located on top the left valve cover on my truck. Hard to say if that's what yours is doing, but I thought I'd mention it. Good luck finding it.
