Message: it's a "package tray". don't ask me? i've never done a sebring but if you can't get to it in the trunk then i'd say you probably need to take out the package tray.

Message: Never heard of a "seabring".
There's a "Sebring" made by Chrysler named after a city in Florida. Is that what you meant?
If I were you, I would take it to a professional mechanic. You seem a little stunnned or dense or thick.

Message: if you have a leaf or coil spring on the suspension and not the strut, you shouldn't need a spring compressor. i changed the rear struts on an old '89 GranPrix i had that had a mono-leaf rear spring. it was more like a shock than a strut.
i agree with Manuel. spend the 20 bucks or so for a Haynes manual.

Message: Those top three nuts hold the top of the strut mount in the strut tower. The spring is held in place by a central nut through the strut mount.
If you don't undo the three bolts, you'll have to cut the tower out to remove the strut.
OBI03 is absolutely wrong and perfectly defines why asking questions like this on a board like this is a bad idea. 99% of the respondents know less than the schmuck asking the question in the first place.
Hit Google. You'll find the answer. Look under "Sebring/Talon/Avenger rear struts".
