Message: hi, i want to lower my dakota sport 2wd. i want to only lower 2"/4". I was wondering if i could keep my existing tires and wheels. the tires/wheels are from the handling group from manufacture and are 255/65/16 i think. 8" wide wheels...
if so, what kit do you recommend?

Message: you sould be fine with such a moderat drop. just to be sure, measure 2" and 4" down from where the truck sits now from the wheel well to the tire it should be enough to tell if you will have enough room. like i have said you sould be fine with you stocks

Message: If you plan on getting new rims and tires i recomend doing that first. This way you can lower it right... It is more efficient and looks better. Get some new tires some 255/50r 15's is pretty good..

Message: Hey Toad, if you are who I think you are, try doing what I had mentioned before. Measure the vertical distance between the inner lip on the wheelwell and the tire. Also, make sure to check the bumpstops.
See ya and truck on!
