Message: Quick question. Is it just me or does it seems that batteries nowadays don't give you any warning before they go, they just quit and die?
Got in my Dak last night and nothing but a lot of flickering of the dome light. Same thing happened with my wife's car before. When I was mucho younger, I always remember that you could normally get a little power out of it for one more start before you knew you had to replace it. And yes, my battery guage was fine.
BTW, replaced it with a NAPA Legend "on sale" for 58 bucks.

Message: yep...my 91 Dak battery died in the parking lot at the joint where I picked up my cell phone. Good reason to have one, first ever use out of it was to get a jump start...haha...but Yeah it seems like batteries don't give a warning anymore.

Message: buy the kind that have built in warning bells and whistles, they go off just before the battery dies. they cost 50 bucks more then a normal battery but are well worth it.
