Message: Depends what your definition of "a lot" is. I had a factory AM/FM/Cassette when I bought my 01 Dak used. Went to HH Gregg and paid a grand total of 99 dollars for a new Pioneer AM/FM/CD, INSTALLED!!! Bargains are out there, just look around. No need to worry about fit, they'll work it.

Message: If you really want to have the original stocker back in your truck then the only way to cut down in cost is to check out either e-bay or go to a boneyard and see if you can find one, otherwise get an aftermarket deck.
My truck looks like it was in a knife fight, and lost! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1275365
