Message: I have a 2002 dakota club cab V6 automatic tranny
I emailed crystler to find out the details by vin number
and they gave me all kinds of info but not if it has a towing package or not
they said heavy springs and shocks 3.55 gearing heavy duty brakes and all that good stuff.
It came with a class 2 hitch assy. anyway my question is?
Is this thing capable of towing my escort on a car trailer for 4000 miles?
thanks

Message: You can try the towing guides @ http://www.trailerlife.com/downloads/02towingguide.pdf
You good for a minimum of 4,000 lbs it's the lowest number for a V-6 engine. You need to look at the guide I gave the link to above.
Your real maximum is dependent on whether your Auto is 3 speed or 4 speed.

i think it has a tranny cooler too
but i am not for sure
there are 2 pipes that run from the tranny to the radiator or what appears to run to the radiator i cant fit my head close enough in there to find these pipes final destination
but i assume that is a tranny cooler is it not?

Message: I've got an older '94 V6 Dakota. I towed a friends Blazer half way
across Wisconsin when I first bought it. The previous owner had
a heavy duty bumper on it, so it was able to handle the load. I'd
bet your hitch would be even better. I have a manual tranny
though, but I wouldn't think you'd have a problem. And yeah,
that is a tranny cooler. Thats just my expirence, I hope it helps.
