Message: when I am driving my dak, the fuel gauge drops to 'E' and the idiot light comes on. But then it will just jump back to where it should be. Or sometimes, it will jump to full tank when I start my truck, and very slowly work its way back down to where it should be? Any ideas, I don't want to pay a mechanic just to hook a scan tool to tell me its a bad fuse or something!

Message: Take it to autozone or advance they will check the code for free. I also saw on tv that aamoco will do that now too for free.
Check the code, then look it up on allpar.com or troublecodes.net or obdii.com or another site.
Also, what year is your truck.

Message: I'll tell ya, i've had the same problem since i bought my kota, but its actually geting better about it now that the truck is being taken care of. I have always just used the trip-o-meter or w/e its called to know. my truck will run a lil over 400 miles on a tank.

Message: If it is the sending unit, I still have a new inbox one for a 95 with 22 gallon tank. For sale $35/+ shipping. I have the invoice showing I paid $75 for it.

Message: It could be something else because the temp gauge went all the way to hot on my 04 QC 3.7 but went back to normal when i shut off the key and restarted the engine

Message: I am waiting for it to do it again so that I can take it to autozone. It seems to only do it around or under 1/2 tank. The engine doesn't miss like its not getting any fuel. It still runs great!
