Subject: another ball joint quest. IP: Logged
Message: My 97 2wd has greasable ball joints on it. I hear lots of squeaking from the front end. I am not sure if it is the ball joints or not, but I would like to grease them anyway. Does it matter what type of grease I use? I am a deck builder not a mechanic. Thanks for the input.

Message: naw, most times as long as you use a quality grease (you'll need a grease gu obviously) it should be fine... wash the suspension too, when you're washing your truck. mine has squeeks from the upper spring insulator just from dust occasionally, found this out after replacing all ball joints, and control arm bushings.... oh well. I wanted moog ball joints and energy suspension bushings anyways, but it was an expensive endeavor to find out my noise was fro ma dirty piece of rubber!

Message: Thanks. It just got above freezing here and now it is raining. Will wash and grease as soon as it warms up.
