i got wwater in my engine now my engine wont turn over. i am assumin i got water in my engine and seized it right up. think thats my proble? but what does a new 5.2 liter V8 for a 92 dodge go for? how much wuld it cost to get my what i htink is my sezed up truck right now, to get rebuilt. any recamendaiton would be great . thank!!!! email if you need more detail.

I agree with the above post. I did the same thing to my 97 5.2. I went in toooooooo deeep of water. The starter just clicked. The worst thing to do is start it up. Pull the plugs out (check oil too, if it grey or just plain watery....change it) and turn the engine over for a little bit 5sec or so, then do it again, after a few times(I have injection so a lot of it was gas, took 4 times), the water should be gone. Check the wiring as mentioned above and go from there. My still runs without a problem (except the TPS needs changing).

YUP, do what they say, plugs out and whirl it over. If it is seized, soak all cylinders with tranny fluid over night and try it again the next day. THEN change the oil before running it.
Dry that puppy out.

took all the plugs out and shot all the water out of teh cylinders. put um back in and still no luck. im an amiture so i brought er in to a local mechanic look at. thanks for the advice.

Sounds like a Vapor Lock problem....very tough to fix.

hey thanks for the help,,,got er all fixed up on bak on teh road. just soaked the cylinder in oil over night ehn changed oil , air filter , plugs and then she was good as new,,thank god!

To detail your engine, most people reccomend covering certain things up with plastic bags, but I detail 4 or 5 a day at work and I just soak the whole thing down with GP, scrub, and hose it everywhere. Then, I just take an air hose to everything and make sure I get it REAL dry...starts up every time.
