Message: I took my truck to the dealer today just to have a check up before my 3/36 warranty expires. For some reason they changed the oil even though I didnt tell them to. I didnt have to pay for it but I am concerned because they put regular oil in it and I have been using sythetic ever since I bought the truck. Is that bad for the engine? Should I get it changed out? Thanks

Message: No harm in running dino oil in there but I would change it anyway. I would have pitched a fit at the dealer and made them change it and put in the synthetic for you. Do you plan on ever going back to that particular dealership again?
I switched to synthetic and have been getting 1-1.5 mpg more in my daily commute to/from work.

Message: i would of taken it to an independent garage. no state inspections at dealer either. the way they fight warranty claims you think they are going to find something wrong?

Message: To be honest I really don't trust dealerships or independant garages either, to many bad experiences from both. But the dealership is basically the only option where I live, unless I want to drive 45 minutes.
