Message: Why is it that a free flow exhaust and a Mopar chip on a regular 5.9 making 245 hp will give you a big increase in hp but on the R/T the chip and exhaust only gives you 5 more hp.
Also what happens to the hp on a R/T if you put a gibson system to you gain anything or lose. I dont get it. Please explain.

Message: The R/T's PCM is not a drastic change from stock like the Mopar Performance unit is. Just look at how the MP one requires premium feul and the stock R/T can run on 87 just fine. I haven't heard that the cat back setups on the R/T are really worth much more power, only if you do a full exhaust will the R/T pick up much. I also bet all of them use the same cat and that may be the weakest link. Finally they may have picked 5 HP to be a conservative estimate of power increase. Remember how Ford was claiming how much extra power the Cobra was making, it turned out to be a big lie and Ford was in the dog house, again.

Message: Most of the folks I talk with on the R/T list notice much better than 5HP on the dyno as well as on the track with the Mopar PCM.
One thing to remember though...not one Dodge Dakota Truck (R/T included) runs the same as the other. That's a Chrysler f-up.
On the exhaust...the "Hot Ticket" is a single 3" High-Flow Cat (with KatBox) running into a 3" single exhaust. You will need the intake and TB to compliment the exhaust though...not required...but HIGHLY recommended.
1/4 mile times are reduced (on the average) by .2 - .3 seconds with the Mopar PCM...that's not 5HP either.
