Subject: Do 20's stick out past the fender IP: Logged
Message: I was think about getting a set 20 inch rims and found a set i liked with a 8.5 inch off set.The tire size is 275/45/20. My question is will these stick out more than the stock wheels because i don't want them to come out anymore than they have too. I don't care for dakota's with the wheel out past the fender. I do have a r/t though so it has fender flares which makes it appear a little wider Anybody that has 20's is there any problems that happened due to putting on the larger wheel? Such as the tire rubbing on turns or things of that nature.

Message: That's approximately a 30" x 11" tire.
How wide are the 20" rims?
How wide are your current rims?
What's the offset of your current wheels?
What size tires are on your wheels now?
How far is it from current wheel/tire centerline to the outer edge of the fender flares?
With answers to these questions, you can then take a pencil and paper and figure it out.
Hint: Graph paper works best.

Message: My 20's stick out about an inch I think. I usually hate when tires are like that on cars, but on the Dakota it adds an agressive look from a frontal view.
I think your fender flares will take care of it though.
