Message: Has anyone tried splitfire spark plugs? They are supposed to improve power and performance. I was just curious how they performed?
Thanks,

Message: Splitfires are a very poor plug. The design of the plug makes proper gapping a problem. If one of the prongs is even the slightest bit further (either vertically or horizontally), the spark will favor the other half of the V. Making the spark less effective than a standard plug. This is why the price of the splitfires was cut in half. They don't work properly and that got out to the public.

Message: I installed Splitfires when my stock Dakota had about 20K miles on it; no improvement whatsoever over stock.

Message: I bought slitfires for my "93" Lebaron kept them in for about 6 months and then threw them away
I lost MPG and performance with them.I am now using BOSCH +4 both in the "93" and "DAK2"
with them I've noticed an increase in MPG over stock plugs.

They worked just fine on my old Camaro, many Mustangs, and quite a few imports. Also worked fine in my V6.
I used to be a die-hard SplitFire user until I ran the Autolite 3923's....they're less expensive, perform better, and are readily available.
BTW: Don't run the standard replacement SplitFire...run with one heat range colder.

Message: They rank right up there with the new "titanium" plugs and the throttle body spacers. Just another way to seperate you from your $. My electrical back ground told me that the spark will only go to 1 point. The picture of spark going to multiple points does not follow theory unless you can put many more volts than a conventional system does. I tried the Splitfires when they first came out just for fun and sure enough - nada, zip, nothing, no more h.p., no more m.p.g. Only me a few $ poorer.
