Subject: Door Jammed IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1995 Dakota sport. The passenger door has jammed closed. Some mechanizm inside the door has failed, but I can't get the inside panel off because the door will not open to allow the removal of the panel. The outside handle does seems to be stuck in an open position, but it will not open the door. The lock nob operates but the door still will not open. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Message: Though one. Does the lock knob seem to do anything, can you feel it moving the mechanism inside or does it seen 'loose'?
Here an idea. If all else fails, take the pass seat out to gain some room, console too if you need. Might need to sacrifice the door panel. Get all the fastners out that you can reach. The two screws at the bottom you'll not be able to get to. Pry the panel off at the top, it may take some effort, make sure it's warm so it's flexible. Gain enough to reach in and try to work the mech. from inside... Good luck.

Message: The lock is not loose. It moves something but does not make any difference in the jammmed door mechanizm. It looks like a tough job to get the panel off with the door closed, but as you said, I might have to sacrifice the panel and take it off in pieces. Thanks for the advice.
