Message: mine are from the dealer.............held on by tape and guaranteed to stick for life. so far they are great.........survived their first canadian winter. my parts guy says if you pull on them they will break before the adhesive lets go.

Message: In other words, make sure you got dem sumb!tches EXACTLY positioned the way you like before you take the rest of the tape off for final adhesion.

Message: measure twice, measure again. i put mine on........no big deal. held them in place and marked where the tape would be, just above the visor, with a sharpie. put them on, removed the marking with a bit of WD 40 on a rag. repeat on the other 3 doors. took less than an hour.

Message: Wish I had common sense like that. Didn't notice till day 2 or 3 that the very edge of the ventshade on the passneger side nearest the side view mirror sits a good 1.5 inches or so higher than I sould prefer. Guess I'll have to just live with it for now. I personally am seemingly in the minority. I prefer the ventshades that mount to the paint for the cleaner, smoother look. Whereas I think the in-channel ones that leave the weather-stripping visible on top of the window and don't cover the smaller non-moving panel of the rear widnow look kind of ugly. The double-sided tape ones also have a better look when painted.

Message: I got the Draw-Tite vent visors that snap into the channel. I prefer these for 2 reasons. No tape on my paint and can remove them anytime.

Message: Thanks for the quick resposes. I originally asked this question because I was bidding on a set of 4, new in box, Mopar VentVisors on eBay. I saw that they were around $80 from the dealer and didn't want to pay that much. I have had good luck w/VentShade products in the past. My other 3M tape VentVisors stayed on my Tacoma for 5+ years. Never had a problem with them and that was in rough upstate NY winters where they salt the sh$% out of the roads. So, I ended up winning the auction and getting them for $56 (inc. s/h). Not bad.
