Subject: Engine skips IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 dakota with 5.2 V8.
When I am driving and the speed climbs between 50-55 mph my engine skips and jumps. This happens when it first goes into overdrive. This has been going on for 20k. It's been to 2 dealers and they can't find anything wrong but when they drive it, they feel it. They replaced plugs, wires, sensors, you name it... Nothing fixes it. When they hook it to the computer it show no faults. What could it be?

Message: I think this same thing happens to my 99 5.2. At first I thought it was bumps in the road or something but it is like it cuts out for just a split second. I have replaced wires, plugs, rotor, dist cap to no avail. I thought it might be dirty injectors so I have run several bottles of injector cleaner through it and it still happens. I don't know what to try next. I would also really like to know what this is.
