Subject: Decal Removal IP: Logged
Message: What would be the best way to remove the "Dodge" and "Dakota" decals on the tailgate without damaging the paint???
I removed the dealers name decal without any problem by just barely catching a corner of the decal with my fingernail then carefully peeling it off. The factory emblems are applied much better. The truck is black clearcoat. I would appreciate any advice.

Message: you can pretty much do the same thing. i removed mine by heating them up with a blow dryer to break down the adhesive, peeling them off, then taking some polish and rubbing any leftover adhesive till it came off

Message: If I removed all my badges on my 1998, would the paint underneath where they were be discolored?
Just out of curiosity...
I'm still considering removing them, but I dunno. I'm still trying to figure out the point of doing it, really. It seems like it'd be just another way of dropping the overall value of the vehicle.
