Just copy this if you like what you see.

I'm not a big fan of Remington guns but I don't think you can only get a 10 Ga. Auto from Remington.

ah, your stereo was stolen, where from where you live?

the best security system for a good stereo is"

1) no stickers on your windows saying what brand names you
have i.e. kenwood, alpine etc...

2) never have your stereo cranked up when you are arriving at
home, parking in a mall garage or parking on a city street, that
way no one can hear your stereo to begin with

3) remove the face plate, or get one with a removable

this happened to my friend too, because he screwed up and was
blasting it on his way into his apartment building garage, they
took the head unit, amps, and bass tube, it was sadly his own
damn fault

Chris, IMO there's only one type of security system that is of even minimal use. The kind that pages you when some one breaks in. There's no way to reasonably keep people out of your vehicle, so forget that.

Have you noticed how people ignore sirens/horns in parking lots? I do. There are too many chuckleheads setting of their own alarms. So forget about that, unless you park under your own window.

Keep that insurance policy current. Stuff happens. (I was gonna use the other "S" word, but the computer wouldn't let me ;) )

Chris, it's never your own fault to be ripped off. It's always the fault of the dirt bag who did it.

Sorry to hear about that chris.

I have to agree with .boB. get a clifford or viper. Both made by same company and offer a theft warrenty. both have models with the pager unit .boB is speaking of. set ya back about 5 bills installed. (oh and don't even consider self install).

the guns are a funny thought but seriously a gun is what thief wants to steal the most. (registered to someone else - worth a fortune on the street)
besides you want to shoot the theif not blow a hole in your truck.

good luck man, keep us posted.

yeah man, i was talking to some friends, if you have a gun, the thief will steal that too and then shoot you with it. I am darn glad i got myself insurance that is gonna pay me for my stuff. I live in Va, but the break in happened in south carolina, at the beach. i am kinda of glad because i wanted new equipment anyways. i know, nobody looks when alarms are going off. what is the range on the pagers? Would it be a good idea to have the back windows blacked out? i want to bump without having to worry about being violated.

Tinted windows do help - a little. Theives are not likely to steal what they can't see.

Pager range is a little limited. Probably no more than a 1/4 mile under good conditions. It's a low frequency radio wave, sort of like a CB. So things like buildings, hils, etc, will interfere.

i guess its best to have the subs installed in such a way that they can not really be seen from outside the window. But, i really don't know how to do that in the limited space that i have. if anyone here knows how to have 2 or 3 10 inch subs hidden in the back, let me know.

you have a quad chris?
I have two 8's in a sealed downfiring box where my center console used to be. burried an amp behind 40 split back seat. had to countersink it to still have range of motion of the seat. It was a very labor intesive job but worth it to keep everthing hidden. The pagers are supposed to be fairly good line of sight. up a mile (salesman).

I live by the montra "out of sight out of mind"
I would recomend tinting the windows.

go to a stereo shop and talk alarms with some salesman. If you pick a specialty shop most of the guys there will have them installed on their cars and will be more than happy to demonstrate the alarm features for you.

good luck.

its a 94 club cab, the f@ckers broke the back window on the door side. yeah, i had a one point a 15 inch orion Hcca, but it took up way too much space in the back. i want to have as loud a system as possible. here is my ideas so far.. I am taking out the back box which contains the jack and tools and building a box which will fire

forward with 3 10 inch Memphis pr series subs connected to a pr series 1000 watt amp. I figure its more out of site if they are firing forwards instead of up.

Well, I would agree that noone responds to sirens or flashing lights and playing your stereo close to home isn't smart either. I have however been followed home before! I just smile and wait for the show (read on).

Get a decent/any alarm and do not install an indicator/status light or stickers, these only tempt/challenge thieves. Next the siren out side and the flashing parking lights ARE NOT IMPORTANT! I installed 4 120db piezo sirens in my vehicle and strobe lights in the dash and above the amp rack. You have to make sure these are concealed and protected.

If you have this activity going on in the car while a thief it trying to steal your car/belongings it will cause them major agony doing it! They will not be able to see, or think straight! I promise! I've even heard of attempts on similar systems that hearing loss has been caused!

Get an adjustable proximity or motion sensor for the cab, and pressure sensors for the seats for added trips zones. NOT SHOCK SENSORS, these suck and false alarm! Hood and Door pins in your case do not need to be installed. You can use the door pins and the mercury switch for the hood light as trip sensors to protect these areas.

The best thing you can do it to get your alarm professionally installed! But remember, it's the thief/dirtbag you want to annoy, not your neighbors!

Chris,
Also on the note of your 3 10" subs.... WHY?? You want to achieve higher SPL.. RIGHT? Get two fosgate DVC 12" woofers and a fosgate amp! Run the subs at 2 ohm stereo, the amp sees it as 4 ohm mono! Build the box so that the woofers are firing at the same angle as the back of your seat. The key to a good sound in a truck is a wall, so build a wall. I had four 12" pioneers tucked away behind the seat my 98 Ranger Extended Cab which has less space that a clubcab dakota. My amps were mounted on a rack under the speaker box with fans cooling the amps down. I had to pull my seats to install it, imagine trying to steal it...
