Message: Mr Roark,Im curious as to why 2 big companys were not allowed to carry amsoil? The company is in business to make money and expand. From the tests you have shown its a very good oil.I prefer castrol syntech(even though its not a true synthetic)its still a very good oil also.

Hunter,
What are the two big Companies?
Amsoil can not be "factory fill" because Amsoil is not available in EVERY country where the automobiles are sold.
Walmart ... they wanted to dictate the price that they would pay Amsoil, and dictate the price it would be sold retail.
Some Dodge Dealerships are carrying SOME Amsoil products, as does Canadian Tire, and some NAPA stores ... as well as speciality performance stores just to name a few.

mopar_man,
Gillette makes a fine razor. If I were ever on a deserted island, one of things I would miss most would be my Gillette Mach3. That is a fine piece of technology! European German Engineering!
Do you know that European ACEA oil standards are much higher than what the minimum API requires? European Oil Change Intervals are between 10,000 miles and 18,000 miles. My bro-in-law (the one that owns a Dodge Dealership in England) visited America to research the Quick Lubes and Car Washes to determine if it would be a profitable venture for his business expansion. He had read how profitable the "Quickie Lube" companies were here in the United States. He was shocked to see that our oil change chains are still recommending 3,000 mile oil changes and realized that the American public was being duped by the "big oil" companies. He left disappointed realizing that he could not operate a highly profitable chain of Quick Lubes in England changing oil at 1/4 the frequency of the United States.
Note to Everyone: Do not buy just any "off-the-shelf" API oil and extend your drains to the European Standards. European ACEA oil standards are much higher than what the minimum API requires. FYI --- Amsoil exceeds both the European ACEA and the API oil standards.

P.S., Mobil1 is a VERY good oil ... probably the "Second Best" On-The-Shelf after German Castrol (not the regular Castrol) ...
that is ... unless the store also happens to be carrying Amsoil.
SPECIAL NOTE: Not every oil will perform the same way in every engine.

Hunter,
Most stores (including Wal-Mart) will not carry Amsoil because Amsoil will not undercut their Authorized Independent Amsoil Dealer Network and sell to the stores at a cheaper price, so the stores refuse (in most cases) to buy at our margin.
"Quickie Lubes" are hesitant because they want you coming back every 3000 miles so they can make more profit and sell you extra services.

When Al Amatuzio first established the "First Synthetic Oil" available for the American public in 1972 (32 Years Ago) he had some major problems. No stores would carry the radical new product, garages laughed at synthetic oil and said it was snake oil, automobile manufacturers told customers they would void their warranties, big oil companies told the public that synthetic oil was a fake and didn't do what it claimed. To say the least he was completely stonewalled at every attempt to market his new product.
So ... Al determined that the only way to market AMSOIL was to use word of mouth marketing. Word of mouth marketing has become a legitimate marketing plan because of pioneering companies like AMSOIL. It's called "Network Marketing" and is now taught in the most prestigeous Business Universities in the Country as a legitimate business plan.
Stores would love to carry AMSOIL on their shelves. But Al Amatuzio has a Network of thousands of Independent Amsoil Dealers that he will not back stab, undercut, or abandon. I doubt if you will ever see AMSOIL in any of the large chain retail or auto stores. Al appreciates his hard working Dealer network ... and he has stated that he and his company will stand behind his Dealers, ... now and in the future.
If you are interested in purchasing AMSOIL, it is easily obtained FACTORY DIRECT through Authorized Amsoil Dealers (like me) ... delivered right to your door via UPS, only charging for the actual UPS shipping charges and no handling charges.
