Message: You could try some sort of stop leak stuff, but I find that stuff just gums up whatever you put it in. Best to try to save as much of the new tranny fluid as you can and put a new gasket in.

Message: Need to put a new gasket in. The first time I did my tranny, I used too much grease on the gasket, since the instructions said to use it to help keep it in place while putting the pan back. It never totally sealed. The last time I did it I did not use any grease at all, sealed like a charm. You do need to tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern, and do not overtorque them.
I do not think there is any stopleak fluid that is safe for transmission usage. You might be able to seal up the leaking area with something, maybe JB Weld or something like that.
