 Subject: Kenwood KDC 85R

I cannot get my Kenwood KDC 85R to work since I replaced the alternator on my car (disconnected battery during installation). The unit keeps prompting me for a passcode. I bought the car used from a friend and he said he never had to enter a passcode. Any helps or ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I know my Kenwood has a feature to turn on a code. Sounds like you have a problem there...Somehow you need to get that code I think. It is a security feature and I guess when u reset the power it set the code....If you have the paper work for the unit, call the company with the barcode/serial # and see if they can help you.
