Message: I have a 2000 Dakota Sport 4.7L, reg. cab, 5 spd. with 37,000 miles on it. I have already put a new set of tires on it(not because of burning them up). When I had them put on the tire shop told me that both rotors needed turning. They said they had to turn both of them four times apiece because they were so warped. They also told me that since they took so much off that I probably wouldn't be able to turn them again. Well, now they are warped again! I'm tired of this problem already and would like to know if any of you have the same problem. If so what is the cause (I haven't heard of any recalls!).
Also, do they make aftermarket performance rotors for this truck yet and if so, where??!!

Message: Unforntantly Dakotas rotors are not the best in the world actually thier one of the worst around I replaced mine on my 1999 CC 4x4 with 22,000 miles on em. I got the dealer to fix them but after a few more thosand miles. It happened again. I said screw it and ordered the powerslot rotors. Man there sweet nice and smooth and mad to perfection. They must have real good qualty control because I have never heard of any one being disappointed. So instaed of geting DC Rotors skip em and go right for the powerslot. I hope that helped a little.

Message: I have a Gen I dakota, and usually rotors are a piece of cake to change out yourself. (atleast I assume that is the case with your newer truck).
Anyways, I use a cheap Chinese-alloy rotor which costs me $48 total for both. I have to replace them about every 25,000 miles. I figure its cheaper...
go to www.brakeco.com if you like my idea.

Message: Rotors on newer cars just seem to be poor quality. I've also replaced the rotors on my 98 at about 40,000. They were warped. I hate the tires too. I got rid of those Wranglers in a hurry. I've had nothing but bad experiences with Wrangler tires, and I've had several sets on different vehicles.

Message: Had the same problem. Throw away the stock hard pads . Replace with 19.99 pads from Discount auto. I did and no more problem.Pads are cheaper than rotors.
