Subject: Transmission ??? IP: Logged
Message: I have searched the forums for a thread that describes how to determine what transmission I have but to no avail I cannot find anything related. Can someone tell me where the sticker/stamp on the tranny is that says the part number? Is there an alternative way I can find out what tranny I have?
Reason being, I just changed the tranny filter/fluid and did not adjust bands because the manual I have is for the Rams (I own a Ram too). I need to adjust my bands, because my tranny is gear hunting from first to second. I can find the adjustments in the Ram manual or on the forums but I need to be sure before I go crawling under with my torque wrench.
I have also read threads hinting that gear hunting is related to Governor Pressure solenoid and the transducer and possibly the TPS, any comments on this would be appreciated as well.

Message: Call the dealer, give him your VIN and they will tell you what tranny you have. There is also a build plate under the carpet under the passenger seat but this will give you a code that needs to be reinterpreted I think.
