Subject: Catalitic converter IP: Logged
Message: I have a scraping, grinding sound coming from under my '00 quad cab 4x4. Sounds like hollow, thin metal scrubbing. Does it even when sitting in park when I give it a little gas. Driving beside a building, you can hear it very loudly. Could this be the catalitic conveter. Is there a way I can check to see if it is bad?

Message: On your catalitic converter there is a metal line going into it that comes from a pump. The purpose of this is to put in fresh air to help combust the fuel that doesnt get burned in the motor so the converter does not plug up. If this line is loose or has come off it will make the sound you have described.

Message: Just replaced mine with a Magnaflow. It made it louder and may have lost a touch of low end. But comes on good after 2000rpms. Good luck.
