Message: Bowtie, I thought you said you were a chevy man? you don';t know that a 350 small block and a 350 turbo is a chevy engine? BTW.. I just gave my son my older dak, a 87 I bought new. It has over 200 thousand miles on it, and I'll put it up against your 4 cly s-10 anyday.. it will out run, out pull and out work your s-10 and it is 15 years old. I pulled a 30 travel trailer to canada and back with it every summer for 10 years. repairs over those 15 years were tires, oil changes, brakes and a water pump.
You should also know, I'm an old chevy man, I have two chevelles, a 70 and a 72 and a 56 and 57 chevy. I wouldn't own a new chevy truck if you gave it to me.
next time you buy a chevy, at least buy a real truck, a z71 or something. those s-10 truck wanna bees are a joke.

Message: It's amazing how many chevy owners come to this site to talk about their trucks. I guess they still miss their Dodges. Just cause you made a mistake by selling yours, stop crying and go on with your life. Maybe one day you can afford to trade back up to a dodge and life will be happier.
I guess chevy doesn't have a site. I heard GM shut it down due to so many complaints about their products.

Message: If I was a chevy fan (I can't be, I have too much common sense, and I'm that much of a Arsehole) I wouldn't be braggin about the new Canyon/Colorado's powertrain. The I-5 is made by Izuzu... so much for chevy pride and american made eh? Its a good thing they made the Colorado a mid-size, you bowties are going to need the extra cargo room to carry around all that rice.

Message: wow,an I-5,what a joke of a motor.chevy has gotten to be so stupid!and i used to be a fan!they throw a new truck to compete with daks in the mid sized market and dont go with even a small v-8?not even a hopped up vortech v6.so not only is the truck extremely ugly, its underpowered.just like their other jewels the SS silverado and the SSR.even the regular trucks are ugly as sin now.not to mention their extremely poor line of cars.i think id sooner own a tricycle,at least then i could come up with some decent torque numbers!

Message: The I-6 is also made by Izuzu. Both are sold to GM and put into the trailblazer and colorado. Standard equiped Colorado comes with the I-4 no matter what trim level you buy, the I-5 is always a optional extra. Pretty scary when you consider the top of the line Colorado stickers at $24k and still doesnt include leather, I-5, or ABS. Guess your paying for a brand and not quality anymore. Most die hard chevy fans of mine have already given up on the dying POS company and its useless branding.

Message: We have a fleet of 10 Chevys where I work. We keep them for about 10 years. The 7-10 year old trucks stay around town for parts getters. The rest stay on the road pretty much. None of the Chevy trucks made since 1994 have made it past the 10,000 mile mark before needing major warranty work. 90% of the repairs have been drive train related and 80% of those repairs were because the transmissions failed. Ever since they upped the base HP on the 5.7L back in 1997 to 255hp the transmissions have not been able to stay together. We got the 300hp Vortec back in 1999 and it had 2 transmissions in less than 15K. A friend of mine bought a 1999 Silverado RC swb with the 300hp Vortec engine and he had to have the transmission replaced every other oil change the first 2 years he owned it (7 transmissions) and he traded it for a 2001 Ford Lightning. He still has the Lightning and has had no problems with it.

Message: My buddy has an 01 silverado with the 5.3. It had a small knock at 39'000, and changed the oil and it went away. Came back at 41'000, it was louder this time, so he had it checked out. The chevy dealership told him to save his money, and park the truck, because it needs the bottom end rebuilt. He has no warranty left, and, has to drive a 93 tempo with 200'000 miles on it while he pays a truck payment on an 01 silverado with 41'000 on it that sits in the drivway with a junk bottom end! BTW, the tempo has the original drivetrane, and rear brakes! Only the front brakes, and timing belt have been changed.

Who's there?
A chevy of course!
American Revolution? I suppose that means Chevy is revolting against american made engines and powertrains. Hmmmm.... With this kind of attitude, you can count on Toyota replacing GM at the top of the list of auto makers within 5 years.
