Subject: fush under the rails tool box. IP: Logged
Message: subject sums it up I measured demensions across and got 58inches. rail side to rail side.
I want a tool box that is under the rails or even with them as I have a soft tonue cover in my shed and if I ever want to take a road trip it would be nice to cover the bed, but I like the storage of a tool box better then a tonnue cover.
I did some searching on here and found people make mention of a flush tool box at home depot or lowes went to home depot and they only had one that was 61 inches but exactly how I wanted it flush with the rails. I would also prefer black powder coat over chrome or polished as my truck is all red and black aside from the weld rims.
all info is greatly appreciated, or some measurements of other peoples boxes as mine may be off.

Message: Conig,
I have a small delta box that goes for about $60.
If you are looking for tool box that fit under the rails but is the width of you truck you may need a custom box. I am not sure of your application but for me this smaller box works beautifly. It is removable and fits under my access roll top. I have 2 front tire moutain bike mounts on top and it still clears the cover. I have a 20 ft. logging chain, tow strap, 24" bolt cutters, hatchet, battery booster pack, folding shovel, full set of end wrenches, sockets and many other tools.
I would feel naked without it.
The box is not good for large things but for my use it is perfect. I liked it so much that I took it out of my old truck and put in my dakota.
OEM it was white with a Delta sticker (doesn't get much uglier.) Some 200 grit sand paper and a can of truck bed liner ($6) It looks sweet and is very durable. I only remove it for bed size loads.
I know this may not be an option for some but for me it was both cost effective and very functional.
