Subject: Cat problems? IP: Logged
Message: Would someone with a 3.9 short cab please do me a favor and check under their truck to see if there are any hangars near the cat? I'm asking because I'm on my 3rd factory cat (thank goodness for emmissions warranties!) and have no hangars anywhere near it. A friend commented that perhaps they skipped one accidentally, and that this might be why at 40-45K my 2nd cat kicked the bucket. TIA. -tk

Message: The only hanger that I have on my '97 exhaust (near the cat) is on the transmission crossmember. It's a rubber bushing with a bar running into it...otherwise, just the standard hangers in the rear.

Message: I got a 91 Dakota std cab long wheelbase and just installed a factory cat, I have no hangers from the Y pipe to the muffler.
