Subject: HOOD TROUBLE HELP!!! IP: Logged
Message: where to begin....
about six months ago a couple of meth head skanks decided to walk out in front of my 88 dak. of course i was crusing along at about 40 and couldnt see too much (it was dark and rainy) and they waled across the intersection against the light.
long story somewhat short it was quite traumatic but i was in no trouble the people where both only with minor damage considering, but my treuck is wrecked.
MAN YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW PEOPLE CAN DAMAGE AMERICAN STEEL
so the grill is history and the hood is quite smashed, and the radiator support is pushed back a bit.
i want to do as litle as possible.
i have already given it the old sledge hammer (to get the general shape back) as well as built my own custom grille. whats left tho is making the hood look straight. if you know how the dakota hood is built you can imagine the diffaculty in trying a repair on the very front.
if anyone knows a good way to un dent it or where i can get a new hood your help is greatly apprecdiated.
thanx

Buy a new hood top would be best bet if the metal is bent with a crease. If just small dimples you can use co2 icecubes and a block of wood to fix those( used to repair hail damage ). It sounds like you have fixed the grill and radiator support bracket which will do for your needs.
